Sorry if this has been asked on here before, but I've always taken a multivitamin for as long as I can remember, nothing to do with TTC. I just found out I'm pregnant, almost 4 weeks, and I've just realised now my multivitamin has 400ug of vitamin A in it. I know too much vitamin A during pregnancy is dangerous for the baby... it's the reason we shouldn't eat liver etc during pregnancy.

My question is should I stop taking this multivitamin or can I keep taking it??

I'm taking folic acid and vitamin D separately already, but If I stop taking the multivitamin I'll probably start iron too as I've had problems with anemia in the past.

Thank you!

You should obviously stop taking it as it contains vitamin A and switch to a pregnancy multivitamin like pregnacare x

Hi hun,
I am taking the 'Seven Sea's trying for a baby vitamins' and they have everything in that you need when TTC.
They also do the 'during pregnancy' vitamins that also have everything you need in them.
Give them a little search on boots website they have brilliant reviews.
This will probably be best as its just 1 a day and you dont have to remember to take a number of different vits.
x

Thank you! I will check out a multivitamin specifically for pregnancy instead... I just wasn't sure how much vitamin A is too much!

By the looks of it the seven seas doesn't have vitamin A in at all. x

Yeh I just checked it now, none at all... might just get the boots brand ones as they are similar to the seven seas, slightly cheaper and have a bit more calcium, which I'm sure I need more of as I don't drink milk due to being a bit lactose intolerant. I always use boots brand vitamins for everything, so will just stick to that I guess!
