Moving & Newborns

Anyone moved house with a newborn baby? (quite literally a week or two old?). Due to move in the next 4-6 weeks and wondered if anyone might have any tips? First time mummy too...eek!!

Oh Nicola.... good luck with the move least you won't have to do any of the lifting!

My parents moved to the other side of the country when I was a very small baby and my brother and sister were 18 months and 4 years old. My mum and us moved first and stayed with friends and my dad moved all the stuff and got the house ready before we moved in. They still talk about it 30 years later!

I'm in a desperate rush to try and get moved myself before this baby comes but we are nowhere near ready.

My mum moved with 3 children under 6 and a newborn many years ago - her advice is let everyone else move and you arrive just to direct them where to put things. Keep all baby stuff together and don't plan to have everything unpacked in a day.

My sister will be doing this too in August - though I think she timed it like that to get out of all house moving work
