Hi, has anyone downloaded the mothercare voucher and taken up the pixifoto offer for 4.99, where photo is entered into competition. I have looked at their packages on line and seem quite expensive. Was wondering if you do have to buy anything or you get pressured to buy. IM so soft I would end up spending a fortune

I would imagine they will give you a fairly hard sell, as they'll make nothing on the photoshoot at all. Similar to Venture Photography and the like, tempt you in with a "free" photoshoot then high pressure selling afterwards to make their money.

I wouldn't touch it, I got a voucher for a family photo shoot locally for £20 and I'm now £350 down on 3 very small photos. They're lovely pics but I wish I had never got them.

Yikes kumber that's a lot of money for three pics!

If you want some good pics you'd be better seeing a professional photographer. I paid £200 for a four hour sitting with 50 photos. I know it's a lot of money but when pregnant I put away some of my money that I would usually spend on partying as I knew I wanted a proper shoot

It was a professional photographer, they usually charge £200 for an hour not including pics! They're well known locally for being expensive but not long having moved back into the area, I wasn't aware of this until afterwards. I knew we would pay a lot for the photos but I wasn't expecting that! Won't be going with them for next baby!

I did a similar deal through Pixifoto with my first, and whilst they didn't give us a hard sell, we spent a fortune, because some of the pictures were stunning. I have since used Groupon deals, and come away with equally good pictures, although the experience was less fun. X

I got a call a while back saying I'd won a photo shoot at the baby show, all good until they said I'd have to travel to Croydon mothercare store (an hour away) and I'd get 1 pic included... Again similar as they would be pushing the sale of extras.

Thanks everyone, think I will give it a miss x

I got my kid some lovely photos done in the summer just before dd started school and it was so hard to watch them discard them all as I wasn't buying them, but I was chuffed to bit with the gorgeous one I got for free!

I wouldn't reccomend it!
We did this in June and the free shot was supposed to be just of baby sat there. I'd taken props and things to use and they tried to say I couldn't use them for the free shot. No one explained what the free photo would be. I got to use the props in the end as I complained.

They emailed me the photo there and then, didn't even get an actual photo I had to print it myself and the photo had their logo on it! I told them I didn't want the logo on as that wasn't what I had paid for so they emailed me it again without the logo on.

To be honest I didn't think the photos were that good and I don't buy any extra. Defo stay away

I had a fab experience free photo shoot and the bog standard £4.99 just sitting there shot. I then had the prop shots with an almost poster size multiple shot of her, 4 12 X 8 shots, one 20 X 14 and a 24 X 20. I had a CD of all shots taken but not printed and paid £200. I didn't pay for frames or it would have been double but I found frames cheap enough.
