OH has just noticed one of the moles on my back as got what looks like 3 blackheads on it. 2 are in the middle of it and one is just outside of it.
Should i be worried? Am going to see my GP and have it looked at it's not sore or itchy just has developed these 3 spots around it I would never have noticed it until OH said.

i wouldnt worry, you're doing the right thing getting it checked, i have hundreds of moles (not joking) and sometimes they get 'dots' on them where an item of clothing has rubbed against them, I have had 5 moles removed for anaylisis and thankfully they were all clear. If it is in a spot where your clothes rub against it ask your GP to remove it, it's really easy simple op and dosnt hurt.

Emma, this is so strange. I went to the doctors during the week and asked about a mole on my back. It sometimes itches, is a little crusty and I believe has got a bit bigger. It sits right under my bra which I think irritates it.

The doctor said that he doesn't think it's anything to worry about, but he's referring me to go and have it removed as it's a bit irritating.

It's good that you are going to get it checked out by your doctor, better to be safe than sorry in my opinion.

Keep us updated

Thanks girls

I feel a little better knowing it could just be nothing I daren't google it because i'll freak myself out. It is in an area where my bra strap couldrub against it.Think OH only noticed it because i have a strappy top on today

I sometimes get a mole that will scab over then it is ok again after a couple of weeks. I had 2 removed a few years ago, one of the was on my arm and it went really big and sore and kept bleeding. The GP removed it there and then in her room. It was fine thankfully just in an awkward place. better to be safe than sorry! I hope everythings ok

I have hundreds too, I hate them. I get really self-conscious about them

Can you have them removed if you just ask cos my 2 biggest ones are on my back and I don't like wearing strappy tops cos of them. I know that's just cosmetic reasons rather than medical but is it worth asking my GP anyway? :?

How much of a scar does it leave?

Gps wont remove moles for cosmetic reasons only gals. The only way you can get them removed is lie through your teeth and tell your doctor there sore or really itchy.

I would ask your doctor Kirsty. If you say that they irritate you and you feel very self conscious of them, I am sure that he will send you somewhere to have them removed :)

Sean had a huge one on his face  it was horrible. They removed it but he has an inch scar on his face now :?

The ones that I had removed were all pretty big and also very raised, they have left hardly any scar at all. i felt it was better to have a tiny scar then a big whopping brown thing there. The only ones my GP in UK wouldnt remove were ones on my face, he said I would need to see a plastic surgeon for those.

of course ur bein wise gettin it checked out. its probably fine, thou. i went to the docs when i was preggas my little brown mole on my chest went pink and twice the size. but he shone a light on it and said its fine- they can change with hormones u not long given birth have u. my doc said the ones that turn black are the worrying ones. its always wise to get them checked out tho, even if it was something sinister, can be easily dealt with if caught early. good luck

I wouldn't worry too much but definately get it looked at. I had a pretty big mole on my bum since I was a child and 2 years ago it got sore, itchy, bleed slightly, changed in shape and colour (had to get my OH to take photos of it as I couldn't see it!) so I got it checked. It was removed and biopsed. It came back clear but it was a relief.

Yeah they don't remove them no more unless they are worrying, irritating or sore. I asked the other day about one I had that had been removed about 5 years ago and had grown back. They told me at the time that if it grew back they would remove it again but polices have changed since then and they won't do it for cosmetic reasons.

I've just been to see my GP and he said it wasn't anything to worry about.
