just wondering if the website info on profiles has been removed on purpose? would it be against the rules to put it somewhere else then?

Hello!

Yes it has been removed, we had the problem of spammers joining and putting their websites there all the time
It would depend on what kind of URL you wanted to put in, advertising is not allowed, but for example a link to your myspace or your budgie forum would be fine.
