Ryan broke my phone the other night so I arranged to get a new one through my insurance. I paid the £30 excess and they said they'll send me a grey bag out and I put the phone in and send it off, once they get it they'll send my new one out.

I just decided to try and switch my old one on today to see if it worked and it does so when I send it off do you think they'll refuse to give me a new one after all?

Mind you, it's scratched, dented and has missing parts so hopefully they'll take pity on me and still send me a replacement

Have you got pictures/texts etc on the phone memory that you would like to keep?? If so it maybe worth keeping the one you have else you'll lose it all

Nah they were all on the memory card so that's alright.

It kept switching itself off even before Ryan got his hands on it so I need it replaced but when they approved my claim it was for a broken screen, now that the screen is working again I dunno if the claim will still be allowed.

Ahh bugger it, I'll wait and see 8)

usually kirsty they will either fix the one you have OR try and give you a reconditioned one (i.e one that was returned as faulty and now fixed or someone who sent it back within 14 days as they didnt like it) occasionally you will get a brand new one, only if yours is un repairable, OR they don't stock it anymore and you have to choose a new model!

You might loose everything if they repair it, they told me I would last time, but I didnt - you could always tfr everything to your PC first. I bet they wont refund your £30 though if you say ''oh its working now'' so may as well try for a new one IMO. What did you say had happened - if you said baby dropped it etc, then just stamp on it, they will assume that damage was cause by the drop you reported - least you will get a new one then pmsl

Well they said I'll be getting a new one, or at least no more than 14 days old. I'm just hoping they don't change their mind when they see that it's actually working now.

Ryan was chewing it and it must of got wet inside the screen and it just wouldn't come on. When I rang up they asked me some stupid questions, like why did I give it to the baby... erm, he's 10 months old, you don't need to give him things, he finds them...

Screen must of dried out now but I'm gonna try and break it again for when I send it away tomorrow

*hopes that nobody on the forum works for Fonesafe insurance*

:rotfl:

Just drop it in some water for a second then - that'l do it!

When my phones screen when all funny after 2 months (its went half black half purple) I rung them up and they said £25 excess - I said nope Ive had it 2 months its a faulty unit - so they said where do you have the phone so I said in my bag why and they said ''oh deffo £25 excess as its classed as user error'' I asked what that meant and he goes on ''user error, because you have had it in your bag, it 'could' have been banged'' so I asked where I was supposed to have it to not cause ''user error'' and he said ''carry it'' WTF! Then suggested I could ''Carry it round my neck'' so I polietly responded saying that it will get more damaged whacking in to things, plus if he knew bradford at all it would be like carrying a sign saying ''rob me'' or ''im an immagrant'' having a phone round your neck called him a tosser and hung up :rotfl: (oh then went to the O2 store and they said no problem will send it away and have it back in 7 days no excess  call centers are wank

anyway rant over pmsl hope you get it sorted
