I noticed a couple of weeks ago that Jakes skull is slightly asymmetrical. I was gonna get the health visitor to look this week but the baby clinic was cancelled.

Im just wondering if this is normal in the first few weeks (like the skull plates still not in their final positions) or if I should worry. Jake isnt bothered by it at all. He is 6 weeks old at the weekend.

Heres some pics

From the front- the left side is rounded while the right side is more square

also there is a bump in the shape of the bone sticking out on one side, there is also one on the back

Aww, thats quite normal, like you say the bones are still shaping themsleves. The hv told me to make sure baby wasnt lying in the one position too often as they can be lazy and if the sleep on one particular side then the make sure they are moved. If the head is slightly off shape at this point they wil find it difficult o make small movements with their head and will prefer one side.

Im glad to say Joe's head is okay now but its worrying at first especially when they are wee and baldy.

I don't know so i'm not much help but I just wanted to say that Jake looks extremely cute in those photos :D

awww thanks, even with a wonky head? lol

Jack had a wonky/flat side for ages
it really worried me, like it does LOL, but we found it was because he always slept on one particular side.

Babies tend to turn their heads towards the light, so i used to place Jack upside down in his cot/moses basket it that makes sense.

It will right itself in a few months hun.

Now Jack has a lumpy bumpy head from all the times he falls!!! LOL just gets better!!!

Actually Jake does sleep facing the light. I will turn him around in his cot tonight to see if it makes a difference. Thank you
