I'll try not to make this a long one but I can't guarantee that!

When Isabelle was about 5 weeks she was prescribed Colief as she was really unsettled, had tummy pain and colic. The HV wasn't sure at first whether she'd need a different milk like Nutrimagen (prescription one) but we tried the Colief and it worked brilliantly. Anyway, at about 11/12 weeks Isabelle started to get quite a bit of sick come up after her feeds and I put this down to being normal.

But for the last 2 weeks or so, she has been sick all the time. Its not just straight after feeds its regularly through out the day inbetween feeds and it looks really curdled and sticky. Its not projectile but looks like she might be struggling to digest it.

We've been trying to reduce the Colief as you're supposed to at about 3/4 months and have got her down to one drop per bottle but when we took he right off it yesterday she was really sick all day and really grumpy.

She's also got excema all over her tummy and legs and in her creases which I know was a symptom the HV was looking for before when trying to decide whether it was a milk intolerance or not. I've got her booked in at the docs but they couldn't fit her in until Thurs with the really good doc.

Basically, I just wondered whether anyone else using Colief had come accross this, or if anyones baby has a milk intolerance what symptoms were there and do you think I should get her in to see the doc sooner if I can? Any other advice gratefully received!!!

BTW my son has a mild milk intolerance and can have a little bit of milk products but mainly has soya milk and Isabelle is putting on weight ok I think although i've not had her done for about a month! (naughty mummy! - shes weighing lots thoughand growing out of her clothes!)

Hi Tan

I don't know much about milk intolerance, but one thing I'g get ruled out is reflux, I noticed lily was sick quite alot after feeds and also throughout the day, but as she was gaining weight we or the HV wasn't to worried but at about, then at about 3 months she weight started to drop so we prescribed infant gaviscone this made such a difference barely any sickness.

Also if she was sick straight after a feed it would be projectile and runny, but if it was awhile after a feed it would be thick and curdled.

What ever it is I hope it gets sorted soon I know it's not nice to she your little one being sick all the time, not to mention all the washing :)
