Am off to see the midwife again in a bit. Went a few weeks ago but they couldn't find a heart beat as was still a bit early - i wasn't quite 13 weeks. Am dead excited :D I know my baby is ok cos can feel it wriggling alot now but am really lookin forward to hearing that heartbeat ya know :) she did say last time that if they couldn't find the heartbeat today then they would probably send me for a scan - which'll be nice hehe. I think they'll find it ok today though :D I keep lookin at the clock cos i wanna go nowwwww and gotta wait for a bit yet :rotfl: been up since 6 (just a likkle bit excited) :rotfl:

Absolutely gorgeous weather again today peeps and OH got paid so am off shopping with his cashcard after the appointment  hopefully i will get to meet my actual midwife today which'd be nice :)

Aw, yay! Good luck! I'm sure it'll be amazing hearing the heartbeat!

Shopping, best part of being pregnant. I haven't had the chance to go yet. Though my mum's coming up this weekend, so I'll think I'll have a look around with her :D

I can't wait til my first MW appointment, I hope all goes well for you.

Awww thanks everyone for the good thunks

Well I finally got to meet my actual midwife - lovely lady called Mel who was really happy and bubbley and has totally set my mind at rest :D

BP and urine sample was all ok which is always sommat i am a bit sketchy about cos of the PET last time round...but me bp is a consistent 120 /70

She found bloblet's heartbeat straight away :D she put her hands on my tummy and found the baby instantly - hehe it was riding up quite high near my belly button and when she pressed down it moved hehe :D she said "oooh that felt like back and bum" :D Heart beat sounded like a steam train and was around the 140 mark :D

We had a lovely talk about birthing options and Mel seems really understanding about my concerns about the big hospital in Bath and has reassured me by saying that she will try and help us to keep our options nice n open for aslong as possible :D she said Salisbury hospital would tick all her professional boxes if they think i require closer consultant observation towards the end and through delivery and she did say to me "I can't force you to have your baby anywhere you don't want to Sarah - you're a big girl and you know your body and your baby so aslong as you are making educated decisions having taken on board all the advice we can give you, we will support you as much as we possibly can to have a good calm birthing experience" :D :D :D wow!! I nearly kissed her :D :D :D

I feel so reassured now - some of you may have kinda gathered that i am really keen to have a natural birth in my local midwife unit or even maybe at home if it feels right.... and some of you may know that this is cos i had a really orrible time having my son and feel big time cheated from the whole experience of childbirth so - good health willing - i really wanna do it my way this time and looks like my lovely midwife is gonna support me 100% :D YaY :D happy day :D

So glad it all went well. Your midwife sounds lovely. I think it makes such a difference when you get one you like and trust. Will you see her all the way through?

I hope so hun :) She jobshares with another midwife who is off on longterm sick at the moment so i guess with workloads etc i may not always get to see Mel but its just reassuring to know that at least one of the midwifes on the team is supportive ;) I really hope i get to see Mel though cos she's great :D

Oh I'm so happy for you that your MW is so lovely! :cheer: Mine is a nightmare, long story!

Glad all went well and you got to hear baby's heartbeat! It's amazing! You must feel on top of the world now!

xx

Whooooow! Would you have to go all the way to Bath from Frome? (I'm from Shepton Mallet) Could you have it at Shepton or do you have to have special stuff?

:) Anyways Im glad it went all good!xx

hi honey :) well am hoping to be able to have bubs either at home or at the new hospital here in Frome (they built it on the old cheese show ground - 4 yep thats 4 birthing pools apparantley!!!) but cos of previous c-section and pre-eclampsia - if my health starts goin down hill towards the end of the pregnancy then the best place for me will be a hospital with consultants :) just in case kinda thing...but all being well i will be fine and the eclampsia will stay away and i'll be able to have bubs here in Frome, but if not then its nice to know i can go down to salisbury or yeovil or wherever and am not just restricted to Bath :) shitnsmellit eh.. dya miss it? xxxxx

Oh wow....that MW sounds fab. Glad you had such a nice appointment and got to hear your baby's heartbeat.

It gives me hope for my appointment next week now.
