Midwife appointment today

And yay it went really well She was running about twenty minutes late but It was ok as I got to read my book in the waiting room

After the presence of protein and white blood cells in my last wee sample, i was a bit worried that it was going to be worse (as I hadn't yet heard back from the lab re the last sample) but all was clear and no trace of any nasties I made sure I did a mid stream wee sample as the midwife had said last time that often with increased discharge during pregnancy some of it can get in your sample if you start collecting as soon as you start going!

Blood pressure is nice and normal at 110/60 and for the first time I measured 34cms at 34 weeks Amusingly the midwife was really surprised she said that she was sure I was going to measure big by a couple of cms. I told her I just look huge

He is still head down and she could feel his bum which is under my right ribs I notice in my notes under Relation to Brim she has written N/E although last time she wrote Free. I did ask if he was engaged yet and she said no and didn't expect it to happen until 36 weeks so I assume N/E is not engaged.

Glad it went well! My Lil Miss isn't engaged yet but don't worry! It has no indication on when the LOs arrive. Some women engage at 34 weeks and go overdue, some don't even engage until labour! So don't worry about that

Sounds similar to my appointment today..so glad it went good for you

I measured exactly 34 for 34 weeks also, apparently LO is fully engaged right now. BP was 120/80

Never understand them but they seemed to be saying thats normal....LO's bum is under my left rib and there is still room to grow .. little less than 6 weeks to go...

Just realised that from now on my appointments are going to be every two weeks until D-Day!

Dannii glad your appointment went well! I asked my friend today when she engaged with her little one and she said not until later on. She said you can't mistake the pressure it'll be very obvious!

Neev, good bp and measurements for you Your little man is fully engaged? Wow, can you feel it? I can't believe we only have 6 weeks

Yay 6 weeks...

Mildly - when the MW was checking to see how the LO was positioned she was trying to grab the head at the bottom and with a smile she said great position, head is fully engaged. My question to her was instantly - How do you know? A smart little student MW gave a sharp answer - Its the experience. I though duh I know that but then straight away my sweet little MW said..here, when I push over here around his head I cannot move it, he is much lower down than before and he is "stuck". Oh that sounded painful to me but MW said thats the best way for them because now they cannot flip and somersault to breech

The way I would describe I have felt different this past 10 days is getting up for the toilet every 45 minutes at night because I have this pressure on my bladder which feels heavy and uncomfortable. When I walk I have to take slower steps because too much bounce in my step makes me feel my bladder will burst.

I think they say anytime now uptil 37 weeks is engaging time or thereabouts.

My next appointment is 2 weeks today also - apparently now they are every 2 weeks - so depending on whether we are on time or not it could be 2 more MW appoints or max 4...exciting stuff

I am wondering if Thursday is a national MW appointment day because a lot of us have our appointments on a thursday...you know like in school wednesday afternoons were sports afternoons everywhere? I am wondering about the strangest of things these days - idle mind....

Also got really swollen ankles, uncomfortable with the heat....
