from what ive been reading on here i know its quite normal that my lo spits more out than he swallows while he gets used to taste n texture...but when will he start opening his mouth fully & swallowing??? i know its soon but i just worry im doing things wrong!:eh:

Be patient, he'll get there! They have to get used to getting the food from the front to the back of their mouths!
Charley spits his out then shoves his bib in his mouth to eat the food!
I've still only tried him with banana and muesli so far! I wanna try something else soon but he seems happy with his milk ATM!

im starting to think that too.... it may have just been a phase cos now he seems quite ok just with milk!! i may leave it afew weeks and start with porridge again!!! hes still under 4months!

How come your weaning so early, if ok to ask? Purely just curious.

my hv advised me too! my lo was never ever satisfied with feeds and generally grazed throughout the day.. dont get me started on the nights! ive been doing it very slowly for the last few weeks just porridgewith breakfast or supper and its going ok i think. however he seems much more satisfied with just milk now so i may wait until hes about 5 months before i start up again! it was prob just a phase!!

Maybe he was going through a bit of a growth spurt and that's settled down now if he seems happy just on milk x

It only took Cahal a day or two to get the hang of it, he loves his food! He was more than ready for it, and so far (touch wood) seems to have just instinctively known what to do
