Hi all.

I am currently 6 days overdue and have my induction booked for Thuesday 9/2, my midwife is coming to my house on Monday to do a membrane sweep. Has anyone had this done and does it hurt? My midwife sais there is 75% chance it could start labour, Did it work for you?

i'd be interested to know as well, i have a sweep booked for this thursday if nothing happens before then... i'll be exactly 1 week overdue then.

I had this wasnt pleasant but MW said that it was the worst of the internals your likely to have. I think it only works if your cervix etc is soft and ready, I got induced the following day anyway so couldnt say if it would have worked although I was already 2cms and had a soft cervix she told me it was favourable I think its pot luck there are other polls on this here somewhere I think for most people it didnt work.

Mine didn't hurt, it was just a bit uncomfortable.

My midwife said I was dilated 2-3 and there was no way I would need inducing as I was ready to go.

Unfortunatley she was wrong and I was induced a week later :(

It did give me lots of braxton hicks though.
