membrane sweep question

Hi everyone i am 40 weeks plus 5 and i had a membrane sweep today and i was wondering whether they really do increase the chances of labour within a couple of days.I have had bad period pains and a few contractions which have now eased off but the midwife said i would experience this.Has anyone had one done and gone into labour soon after?

I had a sweep and went into labour a few hours later.... 3 days later Oliver was born!

i had mine on the wednesday and went into labour very late on the saturday night. although it was a longish time in between i'm sure its what started me off as i had felt hardly anything before and after that i knew it was coming. had the period cramps for the first couple of days and was losing my plug the whole time.

will keep my fingers crossed for you!

Well when i had mine they told me my back waters had gone without knowing!sorry i cant help you with if it works, but if i hadnt had mine i would of been walking round for days without knowing!

i had a sweep on friday and had my baby on monday..i was 1cm at my sweep and my contractions started getting stronger after the sweep..they just didnt really amount to much until the sunday night!
