Is anybody else working up until 39 weeks or there due date??

If so what job do you do?

Just curious... I'm a student nurse on my final placement and I'm going to try and finish my placement which will take me up to 5 days before my due date! I've had quite a healthy pregnancy, I'm 32 +2 at the moment and other than a few niggles of pain and tiredness I'm ok up to now!

I think plenty of people work until due date. If you are feeling OK and you work allows it, why not? x

I will be finishing week 38, just because I really fancy spending some time at home before baby arrives. But it makes sense to try and finish your placement x

wish id have worked upto my due date with my son! was fine at 40 weeks..went to 41 weeks and was stil more than capable of working

im coming off at 36 this time only because i have annual leave for 2 weeks and want to spend some time with my son before his little sister arrives :)

Yeah I'm hoping to work up to my due date but I work from home so I'm pretty lucky x

I'm working until 38 weeks all being well! Office based job and can work at home if the need arises so think I'll be ok but not expecting it to be easy! Short commute too thankfully and I can park on site :)

I'm praying I don't go into labour early, really want to finish this placement! Everyone thinks I'm mad for working so far along, least I'm not the only one lol xxx

Ill be 37 weeks. Having problems with my back and work being knobs so glad I decided 37 weeks now. Id just do what you think you can cope with xx

I'm leaving at 34 and a half weeks on holiday until my due date. Should be before I that but where I work is shutting so I'm riding it out until the end xx

I'm a nurse and I finished at 34wks, felt like I could of worked until 36 at the most but the 14hour shifts were starting to feel reeeeeally long. Especially when they put me on two back to back!

See how you feel, luckily as a student nurse you aren't bound by the same rules regarding changing the dates of mat leave (as far as I am aware from when I was at uni).

I know you probably just want to get that final placement done and dusted though :)

x

I was doing long days and now ive gone to short days, I'm in my 5th week of placement, it's in a GP surgery so it's a lot of sitting down to be honest, it's not like a medical ward or anything! So much easier as a student though, if it wasn't for the fact it's my last placement Id be finishing sooner! Watch this space lol! Thanks for all your replies xxx
