REALLY didnt know where to put this...

Corey is intollerant to the protine in milk (soya, goats, cow.. anything) so, hes on a prescription only formula that has the protine broken down already.

Anyways, I cant give him rice pudding for desert (along with alot of things) because it has milk in it. ANyways, anyone tried making rice pudding with formula milk?! Will it work as well, and does anyone have a simple recipie for making the stuff..??

I didnt know if it would work... because the formula is not like cows milk...??

Why not try it and see. Homemade rice pudding is really simple to make, just pudding rice and milk in a dish and cook in oven. Can cover with foil to start, and stir part way thorugh. Make a small portion and see how it turns out. If it gets a bit dry then add extra to thin it down while cooking.

I can't see how it wouldn't work. Like sherlock said give it a go :)

LOL, okies then, ill just make it and see..!

Pudding rice eh, I never knew there was a difference... i'll google a recipie and see how it goes!!

FYI!!

I whacked about 10oz of formula in a saucepan, a handfull of basmati (LOL) rice, a table spoon of castor sugar, a sprinkling of ground nutmeg and left it for about 45 mins...

Iv now frozen it in portions... and kept one inthe fridge, so we'll see what he thinks...

TBH, he'll eat anyting im sure!!

Hehe not sure that will turn out like pudding rice but be interesting to see :D

I'd always use pudding rice personally as it is designed to be cooked for far longer in the oven and expands into the big fluffy pudding rice texture. I doubt basmati will do the same. It will soak up the rice but won't have the gooeyness tha pudding rice has.

Also with pudding rice you really don't need to add sugar (if LO doesn't have such things sweetened from early on they won't ever miss it) and you can always add a small sprinkling of fresh fruit or some such to sweeten it up. I actually prefer home made rice pudding without sugar.
