Now Olivia is 6 months i was thinking about lumpy food!

Should i start making her food a little lumpy now, instaed of liquidizing it totally or is it too early?

I know the lumpy jar food is from 7 months so does this mean i should wait till 7 months?

Sorry for all the questions i just dont want to push her too soon!

So glad you asked that Kelly! I haven't got a clue what i'm doing this time round and can't remember what to do when! In fact I don't even know how I found out the first time either!

Also, do you give a milk feed with solids or at different times. Have got Annabel Karmel book but i'd end up giving Isabelle a solid feed or milk feed about every 2 hours if I went by that! She only has 4 feeds a day, sometimes only 3.

This is Olivia's daily routine from the past couple of weeks!

6am - 5oz Bottle

9-9.30ish - Bottle and porrige

12-12.30ish - bottle then dinner

3-3.30ish - 5oz bottle

5-12.30ish - bottle and dinner or pudding

between 8 and 8.30 5oz bottle then bed

I always give a bottle before her food otherwise she will scream the house down, she will take 4-5oz then have her dinner about 10 monis after!

Im not sure if i should drop a feed tho because it says on her formula tin that she should only be having 4 bottles a day for a 6 month old!

Am i feeding her too much? She always has been a hungry baby!

Im going to be bending my health visitors ear on friday lol

hi kelly. hope you guys are ok.

i started taylor on lumpy food at around six mths as he need something more. but it was only a bit lumpy if you know what i mean. 7mth jars should be fine for her. all you can do is a least give it a go she will refuse it if she isnt ready.

gotta say i havent seen her in a while, your gonna have to bring her into work to see me. :D

!Tnx claire, i must admit i cant remember a lot about weaning Brooke  and i do worry a lot about Olivia!

I think i will try her then see how she goes!

Kelly S

How much milk is she having in total.

Im the same as you I give milk with brek, lunch & dinner. I dont really ever offer her water but Im going to try to make it a priority. Isabella is having between 5/6 milk feeds?????

Olivia was having 6 feeds in a day because she was waking between 5 and 6am for a feed she would then have another feed between 9-10 with breakfast and then every 3 hours after that!

The past week she has been waking later and later yeasterday she woke at 7.15 and today 7.30 so she has only had 5 feeds!

The is how the past two days have worked out! Im hoping she carries on like this as it does work out quite well and she isnt waking for a feed at 5 which is great :D

7-7.30 - 6oz Bottle and breakfast mixed with her milk

11-11.30 - 6oz Bottle and dinner

2-2.30 - 6oz Bottle

5-5.30 - 6oz Bottle and tea

8-8.30 - 6oz Botttle then bed

She doesn't always finish the bottle!

Does Isabella have her milk befor her food? Olivia will scream if i try to give her food 1st as she is so hungry if i try and take the bottle out half way through she also screams!

I made a post about her having 6 bottles a day as i was worried i was over feeding her, here it is

She has her cereal/porridge before milk in the morning but the rest of the day it HAS to be milk first otherwise she completely loses it.

I find feeding & bottle time quite stressful
