Hi guys,

I've come off the Ovranette pill October 2017 and have not had a period since. I've gone to the doctor and bloods came back to say that my oestrogen level was low - everthing else is normal. Body percentage fat is 23 and everything else looks good! He recommended I just wait it out for my hormones to balance. But I'd love to start trying for a baby. I had an ultrasound to rule out PCOS and everything appears normal. Has anyone any advice? Should I push my doctor on this or is it best for my body to normalise itself? I feel I've waited long enough for this....

Thanks so much x

You've alredy gone a year. I know there are books on eating for hormone balance - you could try a nutritional approach. Your body fat % is on the low side so you could try putting on some weight. The average is 25-31% Low fat affects oestrogen and hormone balance.

Have you looked into accupuncture?

I have been having it to improve the quality of my periods (used to be old blood with clots, now red blood, hardly any clots) and I have seen a big improvement in 3 months. It's not a cheap option but it makes me feel much less stressed and I can see a difference in PMT, period pain etc so it might help balance your hormones and kick start your periods?

Good luck xx

Thanks so much ladies for the advice and well wishes. I would just love to know if it’s something I’m doing or is it just down to the pill. Initially I thought it was but 11 months now and still no period. I’ve heard that acupuncture is really good so I’ll def look into that. Will try anything. Ive cut out exercise except for walking. Thanks so much for the replies - please god I’ll have good news soon.
