Hello all I am new to this forum I just wanted some advice really, I am currently 23 weeks pregnant and I am so down and low alot of the time, my family and friends don't seem to understand me at present I have been to the doctors but they just say it's hormones, I don't know what to do

Talk to your MW about how you are feeling and she may be able to organise more support if you need it.

If you think you might have ante natal depression then don't let your gp fob you off with it being hormones.

We all have down days and hormones do have a lot to answer for, but you shouldn't be feeling constantly low.

I could have written this, I totally sympathise with you, Im currently 21 weeks and feel really low. My mood is so up and down I just can't seem to hold it together, the slightest thing will either make me cry or make me angry. I can tell my OH is trying his best not to get annoyed with me but I know I'm driving him insane being in this depressed mood all the time.

I'm going to speak to my midwife at my next appointment but I know what you mean, I try and talk to someone and they just laugh and say it's hormones.. I hope we both feel better soon.

xx

Thank you for replying I am glad I am not the only one feeling this way, my oldest daughter moved out to live with her dad I am sure it is because of the way I am at the moment :( I will see my midwife next Thursday for my 24 week antenatal but I have texted her a heads up about my moods etc hopefully she can help me somehow, this pregnancy has been a roller coaster from terrible sickness grief from 3 deaths in tge family since Christmas and my daughter leaving I guess it's all taking it's toll :( my youngest daughter is being amazing so helpful bless her , I am also having another girl :)

Oh gosh, that's a whole load to go through. Be kind to yourself, I've got very little to complain about and I'm still finding it really tough.

This is probably very specific to me and therefore no help, but I realised that eating sugar (in vast quantities) was making me much more anxious and emotional. The worse I felt, the more I ate, so I stopped and suddenly was able to cope a lot better.

Considering everything you're going through, this seems like cheap advice, but it's the only thing that's helped me. I hope you find something that works for you. Keep looking and asking for help, something will work!
