I recall having seen quite a few threads previously from concerned ladies who had been told they had a low laying / anterior placenta which increased their chances of needing a section etc.

Just wanted to let you know that my daughter-in-law was told she had this at her 20 scan, but two weeks ago they scanned her again - it's now moved and all is well.

Hope it brings a little reassurance to all of those who may be worried.

Thanks for posting this.
I also had a low one, with a scan today which has confirmed it's moved up too. I think it's quite rare for them to stay very low x

Thanks I've been panicking since i had my scan yesterday, princess did it say in your notes how lowing laying yours was? Mine say full body of placenta lays over cervix

Thank you for posting this, I was told mine is quite low at 20 weeks. I'm 25 weeks now & really hoping it moves, yr posts are very reassuring!

I have a low lying placenta as well and have a scan to check it in two weeks. A friend also had a low lying placenta that covered her cervix completely. By the time she gave birth it had moved away from the cervix, but still wasn't moved completely up. They were just careful during the delivery to make sure that the placenta didn't start coming out before the baby. All was fine with her :)
