Hiya all,

I recently have been feeling faint and fainting as well as feeling a little sick through the day so i went to the doctors who told me that i have low blood pressure...i've never had this before so i don't know why now suddenly?

Anyway i'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about low blood pressure, why do i suddenly have it? Will it affect me when i become pregnant?

Thanks

some people just have lower blood pressure its good to be aware of and in many respects better than it being high, but it does make your more prone to having fainting episodes etc

i have low blood pressure and when i was PG with my 1st child i was more prone to feeling faint but because i was aware of it and made people around me aware of it i made sure i took steps to avoid, for example standing in 1 place for too long, being in hot places etc

things that will help is drink plaenty of fluids and eat little and often so you are never hungry and therefore more suseptible.

good luck ttc and welcome to the forum by the way

my cardiologist told me that low blood pressure is normal in pregnancy, have you taken a test? that is why alot of women faint etc... like rusks said as long as your aware of it there souldn't be a problem

My blood pressure has always been on the low side of normal and hasn't caused me any problems in my pregnancies. My midwife commented once and asked if I'd been having any symptoms because it was noticeably low but I hadn't really. It's def something to keep an eye on which your midwife would do but not really a major concern.
