Hi ladies,

I’m 14 weeks tomorrow and wondered if anyone else around this time is or has experienced a complete loss of appetite, the only real thing I’m interested in is drinks/ sweets?
Having to pretty much force feed myself!
Any way of getting around it would be appreciated aswell!

Thanks x

Hi, I wasn't really interested in food for most of the first tri. I didn't have morning sickness, just didn't fancy much! I did eat toast, buttery pasta, and lots of plain yoghurt with blueberries - for some reason other than plain carbs (in small quantities) I really liked yoghurt :) Since I had no interest at all in vegetables it must have been the only vitamins my baby got in those weeks!

I didn't really get interested in food again until I was about 16/17 weeks? Now I'm enjoying the same sort of things as usual, fortunately for baby and my husband! I'm not able to eat huge amounts though, I get full much more quickly than before.

Honestly, I wouldn't worry too much - the baby will take what it needs from you regardless, so just eat whatever takes your fancy and your appetite will return eventually (probably :)) Try buttered toast, mashed potato, cheese (I liked slices of edam!) and of course yoghurt! Any comfort food really, and don't worry if you're only eating small quantities. I found half a slice of toast was more than enough! X
