What's it like there today? My sister was sent on a course there last night and is desperate to get home today after the course. She lives in Devon. The awful thing is that she REALLY didn't want to go and was so worried about being stuck there!:wall2: We are snowed in again here, so I hope the poor thing gets home to her kids ok

i just commented on your fb status, but my mum and dad are on their way over there now to the doggy hospital! my dad rang ahead and they said it wasnt too bad or something, they wouldnt have gone if it was too bad. i spoke to my aunty in dartmouth before tho mind, and they're all snowed in down that end  no snow in dartmouth itself, but she said it took her best friend's son like 9 hours toget back from exeter or soemthin daft like that!!

Oh dear, that doesn't sound good :-( They'll have to go through Exter way to get home.

everyone was getting stuck on haldon hill, not sure if its better now or if they have to go thataway. ooo my dad just rang me, there's about 1inch in liverpool, but the roads are all clear!

Just to let you ladies know that Exeter should be ok. It's raining etc. but Haldon Hill still seems to be a bit of an issue as hubby left over an hour ago with a policewoman who was to help him drag the car off the central reservation and he's not home yet :( It looks clear enough, though, and there are no weather warnings /photographs/traffic cameras showing any problems at the moment.

The issue yesterday on Haldon Hill was a jack-knifed lorry and two trucks that slid down the hill, stopping most of the traffic. Happened on both sides of the road hence the problems.

Best website to check is Heart FM Exeter's Weather and Travel live updates if you're concerned. I

No snow on the roads but lots off-road :) Hope it helps put your mind at ease!

Has your hubby got home yet hun?

OOOPS! Yes, he got home about an hour and a half later. There isn't snow stopping the roads anymore, it's on the surrounding hillsides...apparently he had to wait for the Highways Agency and the phone signal up on the Hill is rubbish!

Should have updated. Sorry!

I'm on the wirral, about 20 mins from liverpool. We've got snow but it's really fine and not too heavy and the roads are still pretty clear so your sister should be okay :) xx

Thanks everyone! She is on a train home as we speak. Lets hope she gets al the way!
