Left and right lower abdomen pain

I Found out on Friday I am expecting, roughly 5 weeks (ish)

This was a bit of a shock, we are both still a bit spaced out about it, it doesn't seem real yet!

However my concern is that im getting pains in my left lower side (which im guessing is around the ovary/ uterus area) these pans are like cramps/ can be a sharp sensation every so often.

The pain has now moved to the right hand side as well

Has any one experienced anything similar?

Is this just all the feelings of making room for our surprise to grow?

It is mostly likely just normal aches and pains but I'd always give your local EPU a call for some advice if you're concerned to rule out anything untoward. Congrats btw! X

Hi hun, looks like we are in the same boat. I don't know my exact DD as i wasn't recording my periods but I think i'll be due around 14th Feb as I know when we DTD. So I am 5 weeks at the moment and only found out Friday because my period was late and I only had an OPK to pee on!!!!! CDB dated me at 2-3 weeks post conception so that's about right

I have all sorts of little pains but the most is on the right side for me.... I am pretty sure I had the same last time and it is where the egg has nested in and where the luteum corpus is working to pump the progesterone around and make baby grow. For the past few days I've had aches both sides like dull period cramps and bloating and gas. Oh the joys

Looks like we're exactly the same date wise, I downloaded the bounty pregnancy app which is quite good shows what is happening and lots of info too! Is still a little bit daunting I've been through it all be for with my first but he's seven know and I've forgotten about all the aches and pain and i'm much more of a panicker this time around!

Its an absolute delight isn't it! its probably just all the bloating but I already feel like im growing, and I have two 30ths and two weddings to try and hide it from Im not sure how its gong to be possible. I'm just hoping there's just the one nestling in there and not two!!!

How are you feeling otherwise? im permanently yawning and going to the toilet just waiting to hear from the midwife now for the first appointment.

Yes you forget quickly don't you. I kept a little day to day diary almost all the way through my pregnancy before but it's in the loft amongst all of DD baby things so I can't be bothered to rummage for it haha.

I still don't have any symptoms really: tender nipples, slightly swollen bobs and the aches and odd feelings in general womb area but nothing else. I think I'll do another test Friday just to see if hcg levels have gone up again 3+ would be good

Looking forward to sharing our journey,. When are you seeing GP.

I'm getting a lot of pain and cramping a lot as well. I had a scan yesterday at 6 weeks exactly and baby was fine was a heartbeat x

If you are concerned or it doesn't feel right go to the gp. It's not worth it. I say that with experience as well, as someone who is considering suing the gp for medical negligence.

It will put your mind at rest. And dont let them fob you off!

I went to see her on Friday, The day after I found out she didn't do much apart from my referral to the hospital and the midwife and gave me my green book! she also gave me a folic acid prescription.

The midwife gave me a ring yesterday to explain what will happen next, I was doing my dissertation at uni when I was pregnant last time so my mind was else where.

She said ill have a doctors appointment for bloods etc and that she will do a home visit to me at the end of August, but I will receive some appointments before hand regarding scan etc

I just don't think it will feel its really happening until I see it all on the scan and hear a heartbeat.

It is very mild pain im not needing to take any painkillers etc but its just enough to be noticeable and being in that area its just a worry so early on, did you have to do the scan privately or did you go to your gp?

That does not sound like you have had a good experience at all, I hope there was a positive outcome of some sort, if progresses I think I will book in at the doctors but I think it is just my muscles making room and stretching, I have had no bleeding or excruciating pain so hopefully all is well! but thank you for your advice

My mai pregnancy symptom was cramping and pains in my tummy and throughout it's very common to get pains so I wouldn't worry too much. Just your body making big changes! Congratulations!!
