Hey there,

I know this is the wrong forum but I just wanted some advice about tenancy contracts. We live in a flat but want to leave before our contract expires, it expires in October. Can they charge us for the rent til the end of the contract? Or given enough notice, will they just keep our security deposit?

I am really nervous about having to owe our letting agents huge amounts of money.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated? :?

If you have signed a contract they are within there rights to be paid until the end of it.

This could be a serious problem for us.

I was really looking forward to moving back home, and now I am really worried my mum is going to paid responsible for the payment as she is guarantor.

I don't know why I have suddenly got really emotional about this. Damn hormones... I don't know what to do :(

Thanks for the advice!

My OH calmed me down, think the hormones just got a bit much
