hey everyone,
i really hope you girlies can put my mind at rest. lastnight i woke up about 1am with awful pains. they were stabbing pains right down where your public line is, i was in total agony, all i could do was roll around the bed crying, if i layed downon my side it made it even worse. it felt lke i was going to have a really bad upset tummy and need the toilet... but i didnt. i eventually feel sleep few hrs later from being exhausted, and woke up this monring with just a few twinges and thats all........

i was so scared lastnight and i have been told that you only need to worry if there is bleeding and pain..... well i havn't bleed at all, but i am stil so worried. do you think everything is ok? and what might have caused such awful pains? :(

Thank you for reading

i had a very simialr pain to you at 18 weeks (but not thank goodness lasting so long, you poor thing).

my book said it is streatching of the ligaminets in that area as the baby grows. I had to see the docter the next day about something else and mentioned it and they were OK with it.

But if you need reassurance call your midwife.

I'm not sure. I did wonder if you are constipated perhaps? I know I've had really bad pains on occasion where my bowels have slowed down so much and it hurts like hell at a certain point till I can actually go. Sometimes that was a day later.

If you are really concerned I'd give your MW a call and ask if you can pop and see her (or your GP) and they can maybe have a listen with the doppler. My GP did that for me when I had bleeding at 14/15 weeks and LO's heartbeat was loud and strong so it put my mind at ease.

Hey hun

I had something like this last week when we went food shopping. They were really painful I was breaking a sweat and holding on to the shelves. They wore off after about an hour and haven't returned, and no bleeding this time either so Ive put it down to my body readjusting itself to housing baby! xx

Stabbing pains can also be the stretching pains you get when PG. If you've had them before you'd recognise them as the same thing hopefully. If you've not then they can be excruciating but the do pass and cause no long last ill effects.

Trapped wind can be really bad, maybe it was that? I had this a couple of times, I thought I was going to have to go to the hospital the first time.

Yes!! Trapped wind can be SO damn painful sometimes... Maybe it was that?

Sorry you're worried hun  I can only suggest what the others have and call your MW to put your mind at rest xx

Hiya,

I had a similar thing this morning. I wouldn't say I was in agony but I'd been sleeping on my back (tut tut) and when I got up there was quite a lot of pain and stiffness in the pelvic area - I limped around for quite a while before it went. Also, if I move suddenly in the night (it's easy to forget about bump in the wake of a dream, ha ha) I've been reminded by the most awful stabbing pain!! I think it's all quite normal!

I am glad that i have read this, as i have also experiences sharp and dull period like pains near my pubic line and it sometimes feels like its hardening!

I dont remember this with my first pregnancy but it was 5 years ago and theres loads ive forgot!!

I have them usually at night but at least once everyday x x
