Keeping breastmilk?

Hi,

How long can you keep breastmilk in the fridge for? The leaflet that came with my breast pump said 48 hours. But i have since heard it is only 24??

It depends on your fridge:

3 days if you fridge is between 5 and 10 degrees.
8 days if your fridge is below 4 degrees.

Freezer 6 months.

Room temperature 6hrs.

NB This is much higher than the information supplied with my breast pump, however it certainly seems to be true.

Now I am back at work 5days a week I have a dillema previously I would freeze thursdays milk on Thursday evening, and then take it out Sunday night so it can defrost in the fridge for monday. Now I am working Fridays as well, I think I will try keeping it in the fridge. Only our fridge/freezer is playing up....
