Are the sides of cots all fixed now????

When I had Tia... I used my old cot from when I was a baby.... and the side would drop down and then you would pull it back up and it locked into place with some hooks...

When I went looking for cots this time round, I have only been able to find cots with fixed sides Looking at the nursery pictures thread it looks like a lot of the cots have fixed sides on there...

So what's the norm...??? Have the health and safety rules changed...again ???

The cots that still have the drop down sides have to have a slightly different fixing - they can't have the metal rods like they used to, incase baby hurts themselves or gets clothing stuck on them. They tend to have safety clips now instead.

We looked into it as my mum wanted to use my old cot at her house but then heard about the metal rods not being a good idea...more health and safety peeps getting paranoid, I guess.

Some come with the drop down sides. It's something you have to double check when buying a cot. There does seem to be more with the fixed sides than the drop sides. xxx

I think its fab - really easy to drop.
