And he went ballistic :(. He screamed the bloomin house down! I tried this morning and he did the same but I though he was hungry as it was near feeding time. He's ok if he is in it all scrunched up but the minute I open his legs he goes mental! I don't think he has a problem or any pain with being in this position cos he sleeps with his legs open.

I need some advice cos I really want to wear him (and the mei tai's are gorgeous and comfy). He can hold his head up rather well for 10 weeks so might try the hip position rather than front? xxxxxxxxxx

Do you tuck his legs in? So instead of them being out the side have them so he's cross legged.

At 10 weeks I'd say it's probably best to keep him in the front hold as it will offer the best support. Maybe he just needs to get used to it?

Aaahhhh thanks hun, I could tuck his legs in yeah, so he's more in the fetal position. Lol it made me feel really fat. I didn't think I could cos all the pics on the instructions have the legs out. Will try him with it again in the morning xxxxxxxxxx

I think while lo's are you are suppose to tuck their legs in and at 3-4 months they poke out.

Found this on another website....

Newborn Carry newborn- 3+ mos
This carry is for babies who cannot spread their pelvic bones yet. This is usually before 4 mos or so. If baby cannot wrap legs around your waist, then this is how to use the Mei Tai until she can. Always tie around baby's back until she can sit unassisted!
Please follow directions above for Infant Front Carry, except that you will place the baby in the Mei Tai without her legs wrapped around your waist. The baby’s legs should be ‘froggied’ up inside the Mei Tai. Most tiny babies like this position, but don’t be alarmed if your baby doesn’t. Just practice another time and see if she changes her mind. If not, then wait until she can put her legs around your waist for the Infant Front Carry.
Also, you can opt to have her lay angled in the Mei Tai with her legs both to one side. With this type of carry, you will need a blanket or small pillow to use as a support. Remember, tie around her back, not under her bottom.

Hope it helps xx
