Jury Summons- need advice

I have just received a Jury service summons but the date i have to attend is less than 2 weeks before my due date. I really want to do it but what happens if LO decides to come early and i cant make it after i have already sent off all the forms????

I don't want to be left facing a £1000 fine like it says if you just dont turn up because im in labour or something.
I know i'm proberly worrying over nothing and its my luck LO will stay in for the 2 weeks over my due date, but i just wanna see what you lot would do.

My mum was called up for jury service when she was pregnant, she was excused by default I think.... I'd ring them and ask.

Yeah definitely give them a call, £1,000 is too much to lose!

I just got a summons too but I'm BFing so I asked for it to be deferred.
I think they wouldn't let you do it close to your due date even if you wanted to, the date on your form is only the start date, the date where they decide what case to put you on....the actual trial could last weeks and you'd have a newborn. If you turn up on that day heavily pregnant they will just send you away I reckon.
