So after being 11 days over due, I had gotten used to the fact I was being induced on 2nd. Long story warning!
Monday 30th
Woke up in the morning after loosing more plug from the 4th sweep on the Sunday to a lot of cramping, carried on with the day as normal as I could but the pain was quite hard to ignore!
My OH finished work and came to get me cause we were staying at his that night. We had a takeaway ethic hi couldn't eat due to being do uncomfy and feeling poorly. Tried to go to sleep but the pain was now coming frequently so we started to time assuming it was contractions.
It got to about 3:30 and I started feeling really sick, so I asked him to drop me home.
I got home, was very sick and contractions coming every 5 minutes lasting 40 seconds.
We phoned the birthing centre and was told to go in. 1-2cm dilated, go home to get sleep. Like hell that was going to happen!
Contractions started coming every 2 minutes and the pain was getting rose, so we phoned back and we're told to drive the 20 mins to hospital.
Tuesday 1st
We got to hospital at 7am on Tuesday morning and the staff were having change over, so was left for over an hour with no one coming to see us.
When we were checked again, I'd gone to 4-5cm and had some pethadine which didn't help with the pain what so ever, I just got really really sleepy.
At about 10am I was moved upstairs to delivery suite where I just rolled around the room feeling horrendous.
I was examined again and was at 7cm and then I had an epidural and suddenly everything became ok! Sat and chilled until 2 when we were told I was at 9cm and had waters broken and we would start pushing at 4pm.
Epidural had started to ease off by the time 4 pm hit so I was getting a bit sore!
I was in and out the bed with every contraction. There was no chance of me getting comfy with the pain so I just went with my body told me to do. After pushing for an hour, the baby was in the right place! So at 5pm mission push baby out began!
I freaked out completely because it just felt like I couldn't push him enough and the pressure was ever so intense. After a lot if panicking and saying I was going home cause he weren't moving, out came his head and by half 5 my boy was here.
They gave him straight to daddy. I didn't actually get to hold or feed him for about 2 hours which was gutting. We aren't sure why! It took well over an hour and a half for the midwife to do 10 stitches on my 2nd degree tear and I spwas told to not have him for a feed whilst I was being repaired. Finally got to have a cuddle and a feed and felt so much better for it!
So my gorgeous boy who decided to come on his own a day before induction was born at 5:30 on July 1st weighing 9lb 4 and a quarter!
