Its not a major injury. He was in the nursary pushchair in the playground while the older children were having a run around. He was leaning right out of it and obviously nobody was watching him because he tumbled out. Apparently he didnt cry but Im still sad for him. The nursery couldnt apologise enough and said they only tested the pushchair a few weeks ago (apparently they do risk assessments on all the equiptment) and the straps on the pushchair was ok but they gave way when he was in it today. Im annoyed that nobody was watching him but I know these things happen with kids. Ive accepted their apology and they say that they are going to change the pushchair they use. He has got a graze on his chin and top lip :(

oh no poor jake,
i would be asking why no one was watching him hun, they are looking after ur baby after all
hope he is ok

Coor you really are to soft hun. I wouldn't just take an apology, I'd want to know why someone wasn't keeping an eye on him (I understand they have other more active children to look after too but still Jake needs to be watched too!) and if he were strapped in properly he wouldn't have fallen out

Bless him though, sending him lots of cuddles

aww bless him  glad he seems ok. I'd be annoyed too, should watch him at all times :?

The straps "gave way"?? WTF does that mean? I bet he wasn't strapped in! Ask to see these dodgy straps!

Aww no poor Jake! I would have thought someone should have been watching him too!

I think Im going to get OH to speak to them tomorrow about it when he takes Jake in the morning... he can deal with these things better than me

Id be bloody furious, and if the older children were running around outside they should of had a activity for him to be doing not strapped ibn a bloody pushchair watching the others, that is not fair on him at all. And someone should of been watching him, hes in their care and you pay for him to be looked after and so they should do exactly that.

Id want to see the didgy straps. Its probably bollox nat and they either hadnt done them up properly, or at all, or the straps were too loose.

I would query though why jake wasnt doing an actvity suitable for him.Sitting outside in the bloody cold watchin kids run around WTF???

   For Jake.

I would get my OH to speak to them too if I was in your situation. I'm not very good at confronting people either.

hope your other half gets some answers

 from Dylan to Jake

Thats awful Natalie! Poor Jake
I would have gone mental at them.

poor jake, story does sound a bit dodgy with the straps but if it is genuine then accidents do happen, we are all human, i took my eyes off luke for a milli second yesterday and he fell into the door frame, things do happen. just a thought.

My OH found out what happened. He demanded to see the accident book. The nursery nurse was wheeling Jake out to the playground. There is a step in the doorway and as they were going down the step while Jake was leaning right forward the strap gave way and he fell to the floor. So somebody was with him but the pushchair was dodgy  They have chucked it out. OH gave them what for

I've never heard of a strap giving way but I guess you'll never know if they're telling the truth or covering up for not putting him in properly! The main thing is that he wasn't seriously injured though, thank goodness.

And good on your OH for giving them what for

I don't know what to say, their explanation then the accident book are differen,t that's a blatant lie, very worrying
So sorry this has happened, I do hope you're feeling ok about things Natalie, have you any other options as to moving Jake? That 'explanation' wouldn't have sat well with me, sorry.
I am glad to hear Jake's ok, which is the most important thing, very very best wishes
