I am feeling so utterly relieved I can't tell you.
I have finished expressing and I'm currently drugged up to the eyeballs and not in pain for the first time in, well what feels like forever.
I've made 16 weeks expressing, we had a count up last night and not only have I achieved 16 weeks against all odds but I have 268x 6oz bags of breast milk in the freezer to get through yet
I knew I had massive over supply, but I hadn't actually realised how much!
My joints have been horrendous since 12 weeks into the pregnancy and I have been battling and battling with lifting, playing and snuggling LO as I've been unable to take the strength of medication needed to offer pain relief because I'd have to have thrown out my milk.
It also means I can sell my breast pumps (which frankly I never want to see again!) and have more time as well as quality with LO.
I would loved to have breast fed rather than expressed, and I would have loved to have kept going, but I have to feel proud of myself for sticking with it and doing what I've done to give LO the best start in life I can, despite the personal cost.
