My cat and baby seem to have a little bond going on already
our cat Polly has never been much of an affectionate cat but recently she sits on my lap curled up against my tummy and purrs like mad which sets the baby off, she moves and kicks like crazy. It's like they secretly communicate with eachother. At this rate when the baby is born the only thing that will get her to sleep is if Polly purrs. :rotfl:

My Missy Moo is the same, she has always been more Brads cat but since I have been pregnant she is really affectionate towards me, and she pads my stomach with her paws alot before she settles in for a sleep on my lap!!!

Isnt it wierd, mabye they can hear the baby as they have more sensitive hearing don't they?

funny u shud say this, my dog used to lay his head on my bump when i was havin millie! so cute :D

I thought it was strange how Polly has gone from being a nasty cat to a cat who can't get enough of me now! But I don't think it's me she likes, I think it's the baby. I don't know what or how she knows but we've had her for 12 years I was only a kid when we got her so I know her well enough to know that she can definatly sense something.
It will be interesting to see how Polly reacts to the baby in the flesh.

AWW that is so cute... yeh i think cats have that intuition about pregnant women... my cat in the early stage would be careful around me... and then he would just stare at my belly..

my cat does this! snt that starange, i thought it as just me!

Does the cat purr at your belly? Apparently the baby is soothed by the purring and the cat is soothed by the babies heartbeat which is why it curls up so close. Also is it a female cat? My cats male and doesn't bother at all but my sisters female cat is always purring at my belly and the baby goes mad!!!! Its lovely. Also my sisters female dog Molly lets her know when shes pregnant before she does a test by sniffing at her belly button!!!!!!! :D

shes a girl and she does it all the time, its like she cant get enough of me at the moment!

Yes she is a female cat does she always purrs at my belly! Whenever she lays on me she has to lay on my stomach or part of her touching it and everytime I can feel the baby moving or kicking.
What you said definatly makes alot of sense because the baby goes crazy when the cat is purring and the cat purrs like crazy when she feels or hears the baby!! it's so cute :D :D
