Isnt 40 weeks 10 months?

I thought we were pregnant for 40 weeks...?
Isnt 40 weeks 10 months, could swear were only pregnant for 9 months
Am I being a bit thick here or what?

This always confused me when I was pregnant!

Technically yes you are pregnant for 10 months if you go to term and beyond

i guess its widely assumed that a month is 4 weeks, but 4 weeks is only 28 days, most months have 30/31 days so, over 9 months you'd have an extra 27 days almost an extra month

Yep - one month is not four weeks unless it's February you're talking about. It's 9 calendar months or 40 weeks.
