Is this a miscarriage??

Hi

First off i'd like to say i'm sorry for all your losses and hope you all go on to have a happy and healthy pregnancy when your time is right, also i'm sorry if this question stirs up any emotions for you again but i didn't know who else to ask.

Today i started bleeding again, not som much like a period, only little bits on the panty liner but always when i wiped, also i passed 2 clots, the 1st one was the size and shape of a sultans and the next time it was like the sinew, y'know when you take the skin off the chicken. Both were deep red, the 1st one was more solid than the 2nd one.

I did ring the doctor who said i may not have lost my baby but to rest either on the bed or sofa with feet up. I've tried to do that as much as poss but its hard with 3 other kids.

I haven't been getting much pain, just a mild niggle in my back this morning and this afternoon a few tummy cramps like gripes but in my top part of my tummy. The pain was moreso when i stood, when i was resting it was ok.

Since i passed the 2nd clot my pain seems to have gone and the blood loss seems to have eased up (i think) also when i wiped it was more so like loads of EWCM with red blood in it.

Any ideas? has anybody who sufferred a miscarriage had something like this happen.

Doctor thinks i am 7+3, i reckon 6 weeks but scan showed nothing yesterday??

Hi Honey,

Please don't worry about upsettingus. We have all been through this and know how frightened you must be right now. When you said the scan showed nothing...what do you mean? Do you mean nothing wrong or no heartbeat?
If it is the later, then maybe things are ok, just baby is too small to find at the moment. Lots of women do have bleeds that turn out to be ok. What have hospital advised? Did they say it was a mc, or just asking you to site and wait?
Waiting is the most terrible part, not knowing. I hope you're ok...you really don't know what is going on at this point. As hard as it is, relax, try to rest as much as possible and keep optimisitc. Baby may just be warning you to take it easy.
I hope everything goes ok and that the bleeding does not return and that another scan picks up a heart beat.

Hi Michelle

The scan showed nothing! if you read my link its all in there but basically came off mini pill on feb 4th last preriod was 3rd. I think i o'd on 26th mar. going by my LMP doctor says i'm 7+3 but from O i think i'm 6 weeks.

Had doctors on monday cause i had bad tummy pains and left shoulder pain that went down my arm and made it feel heavy and achy. She said she didn't think it was ectopic but couldn't rule it out so if i got any bleeding or pain etc go to A&E. That night i had pinky loss when i wiped so i went to A&E, they told me basically they couldn't do anything if i was starting to miscarry but booked me in for a scan yesterday morning at 9am. Well the scan picked nothing up and so they did a vaginal scan and that showed nothing either. the only thing they said was it showed i had a tiny little cyst in my 'pouch of douglas' whatever that means and my lining was thickened either ready for pregnancy or heammoridge. they said because i just came off the pill, am still breastfeeding and don't know exactly when O was that my dates might be wrong.

they took bloods to measure hcg and i have to go back tomorrow at 10am to have it re-tested, i'll explain allthis to them then and see what they say.

I just posted it here as i don't know what to think, in my heart i know its over but there is still a part of me hoping maybe it was twins and i lost one and my dates are wrong so thats y nothing showed up..

i guess its just more waiting

Ok First of all, Stop the panic.... It could just be cervical corrosion You say you have 3 LO to look after and your youngest is only 1 1/2? Yes?
well many woman after having children bleed in early pregnancy, just the way you describe, and as your body is so tuned into, you will feel the changes and notice them more than a new mum who might just sail through it.
Your dates now.....If you use the 3rd feb LMP date you are 7 weeks + which is 5 weeks + gestation...YES?
How ever if you 'O' at the end of your cycle... with the faint positives etc then you can really look at being 4 Weeks + gestation...nothing but sac to detect at that stage...certainly not a heatbeat.... WHAT do you think?

I am a true believer in THINK POSITIVE UNLESS YOU 'KNOW' DIFFERENT.

you have blood still to get..don't give up yet sweetheart... No matter what the results we are all here for you. let us know how the bloods go..

Part of me is still hanging in there but i think i've resigned myself to thinking its over so i don't get too upset KWIM?

I hope you're right about my dates, i've wondered this too but the pos hpt's just confused me.

I know people do bleed in pregnancy but i just thought because i lost the clots i must have lost my baby too.

It has all eased up since the last one i passed but my tummy seems slightly more achy again tonight.

Roll on tomorrow cause i can't wait to get 'something' more to go on.

i'll post with an update when i get back, thanks again

Well i'll know for definate later but they say it sounds like i've naturally miscarried.

My hcg levels were 489 so they are expecting them to be lower tonight and will ring me about 5pm to let me know.

The numbers don't really mean a lot to me but from what i've seen/heard before they seem pretty low.

I'll re-post later hen the doc rings me back but i guess now i just have to wait for my proper 'heavy' bleed to get this titally finished. God i hate all this, why does it all take so long for something to happen

My numbers dropped in 48 hours from 489 to 370 so i'm officially not pregnant now

Gotta do a preg test in 2 weeks to make sure the hcg is all out of my system.
