Is there such a thing as pre-natal depression?

Hiya

I have having terrible trouble not crying at everything and anything, combine this with worrying about money, working, childcare and trying to sell my car, which since has decided to break down!

I work shifts and so am off on my own quite a bit, normally this is fine but I am now getting really lonely and have to e-mail/harass OH at work all the time!

Now I am worrying that these negative hormones I am sending out are going to be affecting my baby, will he be born really miserable?

Aww - sorry you're feeling so rough. Sending you a big

Lots of us on here are having the "crying at everything" symptoms and I know how down it can make you feel but that part of it is just all your hormones rushing round and I'm assured they stop at some point! I know how worried you must be with all the issues you're contending with. How about you write them all down and sit down with your OH to discuss how you're going to manage each of them. Hopefully if you get them sorted in your own mind you can start to enjoy your pregnancy (and all that lovely time off on your own :D ) a bit more.

Yes there is. I suffer with anxiety and depression to a mild extent but had generally got worse recently. I had very bad post natal depression and said I was worried to my MW. She has offered me a referral (if I need it) to the local hospital who has someone who specialises in PND and ante natal depression.

Ask your MW, I bet they have soemthing similar in your area.

I am 15 weeks now and feel more relaxed than I have in years, hang in there honey, I'm sure you'll be feeling brighter soon

I believe there is.

I have suffered from anxiety and depression before and recognise the signs of it starting again.

I felt really bad a few weeks ago, but luck enough it has lifted. I think I will be one of the ones that suffer from PND.

It is normal to feel down and tearful during pregnancy so don't worry, but if you are concerned, please have a chat with your MW. It is very important to treat depression during pregnancy. xxx

ive been on prozac for the past 9-10 months for depression and then found out i was pregnant.
the pills were working fine before and gave me the head space ineeded to sort myself out but since ifound out i was pregnant its gone back down hill and pills arnt working now. i never wanted kids really so its taking a while to get used to the idea.
deffinatly worth going to talk to someone about yourself if it doesnt go away. if there is history of depression then they will also keep an eye on you after the birth for PND aswell apparently.

Those preggy hormones have alot to answer for.. xx I hope you feel better soon!

Aww just wanted to send some  I don't have any advice :(

i suffered this with first baby and continued after baby was born with PND, ive already warned midwife and im being refered for cognitive therapy, so hoping that will keep me smiling throught this pregnancy
