Is my pay right?

So I just got my pay slip for my first month of SMP, boo hoo! In deductions I have a negative figure for PAYE so I have ended up taking home more than the SMP amount, can that be right? Is it something to do with how they work out the tax over the year, or have they made a mistake? X

I think sometimes because smp is a weekly rate it depends how many days there are in the month as febs pay was slightly less!

I don't think it's that as I get paid 4 weekly x
