That if you ovulate late you have very little chance to conceive? just read an article on the net explaining that any ovulation after day 21 is concidered not normal and significantly decreases your chances of conception because the egg will be too mature (bad quality) to be fertilised! I then googled this and found many sources confirming this. I wonder what my chances are in this case since i don't ovulate until day 26! :(

I hope not, I'm on day 33 and I've still not OV
Are you sure you're not thinking of Luteal Phase?

(Runs off to google)

Yes sure. This is an example of what i found:

"Ovulation normally happens from CD 10 to CD 21. Ovulation that happens after CD 21 is considered 'late ovulation' and indicates a possible problem. That does not mean you cannot get pregnant with late ovulation. Women do get pregnant even when they ovulate late. But your chances of getting pregnant are decreased significantly. Because:

The lining of the uterus is getting too old for potential implantation.
The egg is generally of lesser quality.
You ovulate less often over time, further decreasing your chances of conceiving."

We can still get pregnant obviously but our chances are considerably less than those who ovulate early!

i wonder what it would make of my chances at day 62!! if i don't laugh i'll cry!!!
xxx

Yes I knew as far as time wise. I was whinging to OH the other day how unfair it was that in 3 months I only get 2 chances of getting pregnant whereas most women get three! I am actually getting so frustrated with the whole thing, day 33 and still no OV :x Do you know if there is actually anything we can do??

It took me 28 months to fall with Dan. My cycles ranged from 31-42 days then. I did get pregnant last year on my second cycle of TTC. Unfortunately I had a MC, but was hopeful because I fell so quickly. But since getting pregnant (with Dan) and my MC my cycles have been longer than ever

A 'normal' luteal phase (the time between ovulation and menstruation) is between 9 and 16 days - so if you ovulate on day 22 but have a 35 day cycle, this is considered 'normal' as you have a luteal phase of 13 days. If your cycle is only 28 days though and you don't ovulate until day 22, then yes, it will make it harder to conceive. So it's the time from ovulation to menstruation that's important, not how many days into your cycle you ovulate

I had a 67 day cycle and fell pregnant the following cycle. Unfortunately I had a MC but it gives hope that you can have a crazy cycle and still get pregnant!

Thanks Waterlife for the link :D

Well you can take some herbs/supplements to regulate your cycles such as Vitex but i really don't want to try that because i read that it can regulate your period but screw up other things in your body! the best thing is to seek medical help. Your GP should be able to subscribe something to shorten your cycles. The funny thing is that i've always had short cycles of 28-30 days until i started tracking my ovulation by charting! how ironic is that!!

Think I will be needing it this month, going to be minimum 47 days for me and thats if I OV today!

Good luck hun with your scan. I really hope you get some answers

In the past year there has been 2 ladies that I know of that got their BFPS well in to the cd 100's I know one of them was on cd 155 (give or take a couple of days) and I am sure the other was around cd 117

They bothov'd late as well as they found out when they was only a few weeks gone...so there is some hope for us

keeps my hope alive - in intensive care/coma ward but still vaguely alive!

not too much chance of me concieving day 96!

well i'm split 50/50 then, last two cycles i've OV on CD 21 and CD 22!
