I don't give him formula or cows' milk or anything.

We are approaching 11 months and down to just 1 small BF in the evening and occasionally 1 overnight.

I don't want it this way but my nipples tear & bleed every time he feeds (even with a nipple shield).

Based on how much formula people seem to be giving their babies a day, I was worried that he's not getting enough milk nutrition from me. Although just about every meal seems to contain cheese and/or yoghurt so I think we're good on protein.

Any thoughts, or experiences of your own you can share?

My lo is 10 months and still feeds on demand, anything from two feeds in the evening and two night feeds to six night feeds and a feed after every nap. I notice in the night though that the extra feeds are for comfort and pretty sure he's not suckling any milk out. When he does that he chews my nipples and there are no long sucks. I still get nipple blebs and sores, it drives me.crazy. I'm ready for him to stop bf. I will let him wean though cos I'm too tired to make the effort to try other ways to comfort him.

So really, he has two quality feeds in the day and two quality feeds at night on average. We feed him a fairly varied diet of solids so I don't worry he isn't getting enough nutrients. You could always get the sure start supplements if that gubes you peace of mind.
