Is 12 week scan standard now?

Hi Ladies,

I hear you all talking about 12 week scans. Are they normal practice now, or does it depend on where you live? I know when I had my other three children, now 9,7 and 6 I was never offered one. Have just told my doctor and he said midwife would contact me in next 2-3 weeks, again with my other three I didn't even see a midfife until I was ten weeks.

In most of the UK a dating scan between 11 and 14 weeks is standard followed by an anatomy scan between 18 and 22 weeks. I think in some places in Scotland you only get a 20 wk one.

with my two i had both scans 12 and 20 weeks i know in yorkshire one of my friends wasnt offered a 12 weeks scan but that was a few years back x
