Irregular cycle

Been off pill 3 months. First cycle was 33 days. Second cycle 26. Third cycle 38 days. Is this normal? Just a response to stopping pill? Worried that cycle seems to be getting less regular rather than more. Would you expect it to have settled in a regular cycle by now? Any advice ect would be greatly appreciated

I would say it's your body adjusting to the pill. if you are worried see your gp but if it was me I'd wait 6m for things to settle

If you were regular before the pill you should resume regular cycles shortly after or immediately after the pill. If you are like me, irregular, then your cycle might take some time to adjust. Some cycles adjust after 3 months to a year. Give yourself some time but if you do have any concerns like irregular or intermediate bleeding etc then you can consult your doctor. They will do some tests to rule out any conditions such as PCOS, Endometrioses, hormonal imbalances etc. FX

Thanks think it probably is just body settling down. Might sound silly but seems like this is my first proper period since the pill. Seems more liken it was before pill.

Hi Charlie, jut thought I'd share my experience with you. I came off microgynon at the end of last year and cycles were all over place between 30 & 50 days! After cycle 6 I started acupuncture to help regulate and the next cycle Ovulated on day 14 and got my BFP. Obviously don't know if acupuncture helped or just coincidence.

So I wouldn't be worried after 3 months. I had regular cycles pre pill so assumed would go back straight away but from chatting to others on here it varies loads person to person. Xx

People can find that their body can take a bit of time to settle after coming off the pill especially if you've taken it for a long time and even if you were regular before. If you've got no other symptoms, I'd probably give it around 6 months before going to see them.
