Only me!!

I bought some of this to put in my baby box as my SIL always used it before giving my niece her bottle. Is it something i will need to use when breastfeeding or is it just for bottle fed babies? Do you only use it if you have problems or is it something to prevent problems?

Thanks mums,

Claire x

p.s that lanacome nipple cream must be very popular as its sold out everywhere ive been!!!

Its for colic if your LO develops it.

You give it before every feed and it helps all the little gas bubbles form together to form larger ones which are easier for baby to burp up.

Use it only if your LO develops colic or wind problems. You need to give it a few days to really start to kick in and help. Colic usually occurs from about 3 weeks onwards (but can occur sooner) and once babies gut matures around 12 weeks will then pass.

FWIW usually iirc Infacol is generally better for breastfed babies and Colief for bottle fed.

And you can order Lansinoh online no problem also :)

it made alices burps smell of oranges :rotfl:

gripe water is another thing that was suggested to me, but it made her sick. infacol seemed to help her bring up wind. she has a mixture of bottle and breast fed for the start. when we ended up completely bottle feeding her, we still used it.

i started using it for Niamh when she was about 2 and half weeks old and we still use it before every feed.

Niamh is a nightmare to get wind from and was giving her a sore tummy, and making her sickky etc and shes been much better with it.

use gripe water too now shes old enough but only if she needs it.

forgot to add, Niamhs breastfed!!

hope this helps:

How do I know if my child has colic?

These are several signs.

Colic can start within two to four weeks after birth and may last for up to three months.

Baby cries loudly, often for two to three hours and can't be comforted.

Baby often cries at roughly the same time and usually once or twice a day.

Bowel pains.

Baby pulls his feet up under his body and clenches his fists.

Some babies' stomachs rumble severely and they produce a lot of wind.

Remember, colic might not be the only cause of your child's discomfort. If your baby cries loudly all the time and cannot be comforted, you should first consult a doctor before deciding he or she has colic.

alice's was mostly in the afternoon. her wind was terrible, and she would bring her legs up and scream in pain.

Just for info.... Infacol takes 7 days to properly work so dont exspect it to work on the first go x

Infacol didn't work for me, I found Colief loads better it's 9.99 but you can get it on prescription :D
