Just wandering if infacol actually works. I think Jake has got colic. For about two weeks every night from about 7 onwards he would cry and nothing would comfort him until he eventually would fall asleep hours later. The last week or so it has not been as bad but we have still had a couple of nights like it. I tried gripe water but only 3 times and every time he was really sick so I havn't bothered since. My auntie said she used infacol and I was just wandering if it works or is it just a waste of money.

I have been using infacol for a week now as Keira really screamed and pulled her knees up most of the day with wind, since she hasnt screamed when she has wind she just thrusts   poor thing goes red as a tomato! So it must help. I have tried gripe water but cos its like water she can just spit it out. Infacol is really gloopy, and you give it just before a feed so i squirt it in and put her bottle straight in after.

We're trying Infacol at the moment since Tom's got bad wind. It seems to be helping but I think it builds up and gets better the longer you use it. My friend uses it and swears by it.
There's another thread on here though somewhere (can't find it now) about Colief which seems to be good too.
Here's the link to the Colief website. We've just bought some and so might start trying that in the next few days.
Let me know how you get on with the Infacol.

He was nearly 11lbs! Fortunately he came out of the sunroof!
Just thinking about a natural birth makes my eyes water!

We have been using infacol for a few days now and it really helps to bring Zac's wind up and he farts loads too!! :rotfl:

Havent tried it for long enough to see the long term results yet but so far so good :cheer:

I am not sure about this one.... my HV says it doesn't do anything but it does seem to have helped with Logan...... there is a lot of research out there that says it doesn't do anything as well - I am sure though that the proof is in the pudding ( or the farting in this case!)

this was very good for Jamies wind, he was fine after using it for a couple of weeks!

i found that infacol didnt work at all but coleif worked wonders!

i used infacol , which helped loads. swapped to gripewater, as i was told it was better, and alice hasnever been soo sick or gumpy!

so left it a day with neither and swapped back to infacol.

its taken a goodfew days, but ive got my happy little girly back :)

I havent heard many good stories about gripe water Sam!!

We use Infacol & its fab stuff, we give him one lot before every bottle during the day & because at night he can be very windy we give him two

I found with my son that after a while infacols effect seemed to wear off, so we switched to using Dentinox colic drops, you can put these in their bottle when you make them up. They worked a lot better with Rhys.
He had colic from 7-11 weeks, it was a complete nightmare at the time. I can assure you though it does pass eventuallly!

We were told that infacol has a culminative affect and it worked ok although it turns out our little boy had reflux rather than colic as we at first thought. We also used the Dr Brown bottles and they were fab :)
As for colief we tried that too but found it a major hassle having to put it in 30 mins or 2 hours before a feed as we could never second guess when he'd want to eat at such a young age. If your baby is feeding to a regimented timetable then I guess its easier, my little man was just plain awkward bless him lol

I asked my health visitor today about this and she said Colief was much better so we're going to give that a go now.

Thanks for your replies. I have been using infacol for three days now and Jake does seem a lot better. I am not sure if it is just coincidence but he seems a lot happier so I will continue to use it I think.

Harrison has been alot happier since using Infacol as he's not in pain with his wind anymore, so its probably the same with Jake
