I have got my hospital bag which is a small trolley dolly one-looks light but now weighs a ton & changing bag with LOs bits in (I just cannot wait to meet him/her!)

Anyway I get self conscious about random things and this is one instance. My questions:

-being induced do I take my hospital bag in initially or just bits to keep me occupied?
-did OH/DH stay all the time with you (it seems some are long labours some are quick?!)
-did you pack anything extra like clothes and towels?

I'm worried when I turn up they will look at me like Ive come for a long holiday!

We have to go to a diff hospital which is 20mins away not too bad but I've initially told oh to drop me off in the morning and I'll keep him updated.

I'm 2cms dilated at the moment soft cervix & baby is ready to go so when I had my sweep yesterday she was hopeful something would happen but nothing so far. My induction will start tomorrow I guess depending on how busy they are.

Thanks xxxxx

Hmm, I think it would depend on how they will induce.
With you being 2cm they may go for the straight forward break your waters-see what happens-put you on a drip. In which case OH should be allowed to stay for the duration.
I'm no expert mind.

I'd take your bags in with you, I have 2 weekender bags  1 for me and 1 for baby.

I always over pack anyway, though I ended up asking OH to bring me some extra bits for baby the following day - just remind OH which drawer all the bits are in.

Lots of luck :) xx

I went into hospital to be induced at 8 in the morning . My partner would have to leave by 8 in the evening if I had not been taken to delievery .

Luckily before he was due to leave they checked me and I was 9cm so they took me to delivery and he stayed . I have birth at 10.40 and he stayed with me until 2am .

I would deffo take a bag with u xxx

Ah thank you! I wasn't sure if I'd put this post up too late so thanks for responding :)

I have added a couple of bits & bought some extra snacks but with some pain I've just started having it would be great if they could just break my waters!

Hopefully not much longer to wait!xxx

I had already went into slow labour the day before my induction , they they didn't break my waters as I wasn't contracting enough . When r u booked in for ur induction xb

I have to call the hospital at 7am to go in the morning hopefully if they are not too busy I should get an early night but brain in over drive will be gutted if they say go in Friday!!xx

Good luck for induction today, hope all goes well. LO will be here very soon  xxx

Good luck! I didn't use half the stuff I'd packed in my bag :) xxx

Ha yes Rapidly discovering what I actually need and what I don't need...such as i need more pads and big knickers but the winter baby snow suit was not necessary!xxx

lol hope all has gone well sunbeam. I've got a big suitcase and at the moment most of what's in that is for the babies as well as a baby changing bag filled with their things too. I'll probably be induced too and feel like they'll tell me i've packed too much, but OH doesn't drive and I don't want to be without something. Argh so difficult to know!xx

Sammy-having twins you can justify your own butler taking luggage! ;)

My only thing is after the csection I went through 6 baby grows & vests (taking off nappies was interesting at first!) really nice big knickers and pyjamas or dressing down than went over the scar.

I went through a pack of maternity pads in less than 48 hours so don't worry about packing loads chances are you'll need it. I really thought I had loads but used everything pretty much & more!

Good luck Hun!Xxx
