Hiya,

Just wanted to ask if anyone else had noticed a huge increase in formula and baby food?

I usually but the Heinz tins and was shocked to notice that the 4-6 month ones have gone up by 14p each. The price of formula is getting shocking too. Especially in my local Tescos.

At the moment I am buying my ready made SMA progress milk in bulk as it's on special offer from Morrisons (7 for £3) and in Tescos (12 for £5)

Anyone spotted any other deals not to be missed? xxx

Hi hon,

I haven't noticed the increase in what you mention (don't use either), but I am really feeling the pinch with my general food budget. I home cook all DD's meals and try to give her h/m fruit purees and h/m (free range) chicken and salmon and the like. I like her to get 5 a day and superfoods such as avocado and blueberries. Me and OH are stuck eating beans on toast and DD eats like a queen!

I think I noticed in my Boots mailing this week that they were doing an offer on SMA Progress or maybe it was another formula - maybe worth checking out online?

Valentine Xxx

I think its mostly because Heinz has changed it's packaging.

Found some Heinz tins in Morrisons that has the old design and were still 35p so I stocked up on the creamed porridge. xx

My C&G tins have gone up 7p last week in my local tesco. Baby wipes keep going up too

re the wipes keep going to asda - they do the Jonstons packs of 4 2 for a fiver really often!! Well worth it!! Also the pampers nappies are now cheaper than their own brand!!

Re the food, have you tried Costco for bulk buys?

yeah farelys milk changed to nurture.. put the price up from 4.80 per tin to 7.80 something bloody stupid! i went and bout 10 tins of the old stuff last week as i called to asda the biggest store here and they had the nurture in and it had gone up.. so i went round tesco and morrisons and bought 10 tins.. that should last another 12 weeks.. so he might be on cows milk by then.. hes 28 weeks now.. hmm maybe not :( lol

I get some of harrisons baby food from pound shop 3 for £1 so not bad. Plus home bargains do the baby porridge for 29p. Wipes I got two big packs from tesco (7 packs of wipes for £7) nappies I use cloth

Well were not doing too bad on food and milk as from 11 monhs shes exclusively on full fat cows milk and is eating more of the food I cook now so im not feeling the pinch of buying milk at 7 quid a tin! its rediculous!

I love asda though, they realy are trying to keep their prices down for the recession. Although i was spending 80 a week and now spending 100 a week eekkk, its better then some of my friends are doing!
