so was off talking to her
bascialy down 5 staff
I HAVE DELEATED some of this as i can not break confiedentiality
but ive has a very very very stressful bad day
losts of children lack of staff
more pressure and resposibility on me
this lead me to have an athmas attack

i began to have a panic attack when i wnet for my lunch break and felt dizzy and felt strees building up inside me
i was hyperventalating and panting

calmed down and went back to work
but by then end of the day i was in pian
I missed my afternoon break for resons i will not go into
and this ment i could not go down to the phjarmacy and pick up y gaviscon prescriprtion for heart burn

that afternoon
i think ive had my first real brackston hucks
i had stabbing sharp increadably pain full feeling shoot though my bump and back
for 2 hours i battled though tea time and afternoon session

till the last 3 children went into another room
and i was finished my shift

then i collapsed on top of a table
and i had an asthama attack along with the brackston hicks

I hope you're feeling better.

Remember that Collier is strong and well protected, you may feel the affects but i'm sure Collier is just fine in there!

Best thing for panic attacks is breahting into a paper bag as it helps regulate your breathing.

Look after yourself, xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

:? that doesnt sound good at all hun. I wouldnt worry about Collier as he will be fine in there as babies can cope with one off stresses but you need to reduce your stress levels to stop this happening again as he might not like it constantly. Have some hugs and please look after yourself and litle Collier, you are the most important thing right now over EVERYTHING else, that ncludes work.

   Sounds like a very bad day. I'd be tempted to see the doctor tomorrow, explain whats happened and see if you can be signed off for a few days. You are not in a condition where you should be put under stress. I'd have a rest and stay away from work until the staff situation improves

Regarding the asthma attack, please don't worry. LO will be fine in there. Taking your inhaler won't hurt him. I've been on my asthma meds for years and they are well controlled with 3 inhalers, brown one, purple one and if I really need it the blue one.

If your asthma attack was brought on by stress then you need to address this. Do you maybe need to temporarily increase your dosage when things are stressful at work? The pre-emptive ones that is. Maybe talk with things over with the nurse at your GP's clinic (they should have one who runs an asthma clinic). Or take the blue one before the attack really has time to kick in. I don't know how quickly yours come on, so that depends on you. If on occasion I know I am going to exert myself say, in 30 minutes time I'll use it in advance.

With regards to panic attacks, there are a few things you can do when you feel things building up.

*Be aware what is happening and realise it is a panic attack and that you can work through it
*Stop what you are doing. Go find somewhere you are comfortable, be it outside for a few minutes, or sat quietly somewhere.
*Breathe deeply through your nose
*Go with it, don't fight it
*If you can call someone to talk to, do so. Just talking to someone for a few minutes can make all the difference and stop things before they get too severe.

If you really start to hyperventilate you can use a paper bag to help your breathing, but often you can get things under control before it gets to this point.

I used to find sitting with my head forward between my legs would help for some reason. Of course not easy to do with a bump, but if there is something that works for you, then use it.

Collier will be fine in there, really, so please don't worry. In all that you were still getting plenty of oxygen and so on, so don't fret

Glad you're feeling better sweetie :)
Keep up the tea-drinking!
And the choc eating... yummmm

Tis probably a good idea to talk to work, point out that stress is bad for you and you want to be able to work without fear of panic attacks!
Hopefully they can make sure it doesn't happen again/ your stress is reduced.

Look after yourself :) xxxx

I talked to work today
and they have apologised for what happend yesterday.
they excepted things happend that should have not happend and apologised for the stress caused to me
I asked if it was possible to spend time in the afternoons with the younger smaller groups
to give me a break from the larger noiser more hectic older groups.
they agreed and i will be from now on going into the younger groups in the evenings at 4 oclock a few hours a way from the hussle and bussle of preschool.

im much happier :D and feel that they took on board my concerns and where worried about the efect yesterday had on me and will do all that is possible to not allow it to happen agian

I've only just read this hun...sounds like an awful day, :( but glad you got it sorted...it sounds like they are pretty understanding so that's good. :D

hi hun
I read this and feel for you.
I used to be a teacher but my job now is in a college, I got mega stressed and they didn't really take my needs on board, glad your school have been helpful. At my college 3 people had resigned, 3 were due on maternity and I felt overwhelmed and ill all the time at work, I ended up going off sick and leaving work at29/30 weeks, my bub would have been ok it was just me that suffered.
take it easy and if you feel that panic come on try and speak to somone or remove yourself from the situation, hope the school won't let it happen again
xx

u really need 2 look afta urself hunni, try 2 keep calm and chill out, uve only got a few weeks at work left and then u can relax and look 4ward 2 the arrival of collier xx
