Hello

There seems to be rather a lot of posts made regarding miscarriage "facts" with little or no scientific evidence to back them up.

Even if there is evidence to back up certain things about miscarriage, I don't really think this is the place to be posting them, around worried vulnerable members and lurkers who may get very scared and worried about what they are reading.
While we are in first tri please can we stay positive and have less talk about what may or may not happen. Pregnant women are all at a slight risk, yes, that goes with the territory, but I don't really see the need for m/c "facts" in so many posts.

If you would like to mention facts (it's not against the rules after all) you can, but PLEASE try to back them up with a link to where you have seen it, so we can judge for ourselves whether we think it's a reliable source or not.

Thanks :D

Thanks for this, I seem to to be surrounded by people going on about m/c, looking for some positive vibes to help me along

Sx

Great idea to post this for the 1st Tri's! After some posts last week I can see how some people would be worrying without cause.

I have alot of info and facts about miscarriages which I have collected in preperation for the miscarriage and loss website that I will create when im ready. If anyone does want any links or info then please feel free to PM me :)

This is very good advice and much appriciated. I have been worrying about miscarrage but feel better after what you have written because as you said we are all at slight risk. we all need to be positive for our babies. take care and hope your pregnancy is going well.

i dont think i'v ever deemed anything i said as "fact", all iv said is what the facts of MY INDIVIDUAL miscarriage were, and what iv been told from the docs. on the contrary, iv tried desperately to believe the things they told me were untrue!

i'm sorry if i frightened anyone by posting in here- all i can say to reassure you is that the odds are supposedly 1 in 5 and with myself and at least 3 other members i can think of recently m/c the chances are very high that for every one of us four of you are fine! which probably covers everyone who's left

i dont *think* this was aimed at me as i dont remember claiming "facts" without backup, but if i have then i apologise profusely, i wouldnt have meant it!!!

i do agree with u tho urchin, its not nice to frighten first-triers its scarey enough. i'm really sorry to anyone i frightened.
