and how many of you get periods? Just wondering as i'd love for mine to go away until I have it taken out in 3 years. I read and got told that periods stop all together...Oooo I hope so!
I had one for a year and a half before I started trying to concieve. The implant was great for a year as my periods stopped but then I started bleeding for weeks and weeks without a break. I think it is just a matter of having it put in and seeing how you go as everyone is different. If you find that it isn't suitable then you can have the implant taken out. The good thing is that you don't have to remember contraception for three years. It doesn't really hurt being put in either they just give you a local aneasetic injection in the top inside of your arm and then you just feel a bit of tugging and the same with having it out. It does leave a very small scar. Have you heard about the new contraceptive patch? I am going to the doctor to maybe get it. It is like a nicotine patch that you change weekly and it has the same hormones in as the pill.
I already had the implant put in on 19th feb...I had it becoz i'm crap at taking pills. I was just wondering about periods and how likely it is that they stop, I hate them lol.
