Hi Guys

I'm having a dreadful day at work- sorry to moan - it's long so don;t worry about reading it, I'm just looking to get it all off my chest!

I have so much work to do its unbearable, we run our own business so its tough at the best of times, at the minute we are chasing debts of around £30k from people who owe money - its a nightmare! I can't cope with chasing after people, the debts are made up by about 75 people and its such a pain to chase that many people and half of them ignore phone calls and letters anyway.

I am the only person who does my specific job, so when i go on holiday or take a day off - I just come back to the work that has piled up whilst I've been gone - why bother taking time off?! I am still catching up with work from when I went on holiday in July for 2 weeks!

How I'm ever going to be able to take time off for maternity leave is beyond wonder - I'm changing our system so that I can work from home towards the end of the pg, and will then prob just take 3 weeks off, and hope to god I can catch up when I come back. It is out of the question to take more time off than that - I have to come into work or we don't get any money, my salary pays for both me & OH - he doesn't take a salary at all from the business. i will prob work 3 days from home and 2 from the office, my MIL is moving to be near us so that she can help out, so LO will be bonding with granny instead of me

I am sat at my desk crying (because I'm stressed and hormonal) OH ha sbeen trying to get me to go home sicne 2pm (he an angel) but I can't I have too much to do, if I don't get through the work it will still be on my desk tomorrow, but there'll be more people chasing cos it'll get done later.

I really have to get through my work - there are bills to pay, receipt to refind (that I've lost?!) a VAT return to pay - annual returns to do, people to chase for money, invoices to pay & then re-invoice out to someone else. Its such a nightmare, I wish i hadn't come to help my OH with his business, I'm trapped now.

Anyway, I'll stop banging on and get on with my work, if you've made it this far then well done!

Oh Hun , go home, you stressing is not doing you or baby anygood

Threaten all these non payers with court action ( or a shotgun!!!) whichever you prefer

sorry if i am being nosey but what is your busines?

I can't beleive you are owed so much money of so many people

they should be ashamed of them selves

We're a letting agency - its people who haven't paid their damned rent! I keep threatening with eviction and all sorts - its a nightmare! The money is paid to us, then I forward to the landlord (after taking our commission) so I have the landlords chasing me, and the tenants who won't pay - I'm stuck between a rock & a hard place. Think I might see if I can buy a shotgun on ebay?!

I'm going home now, OH is taking me out for a nice meal tonight - he's even promised to do the washing for me later cos I've been moaning about that needing doing for days, but I keep falling asleep on the sofa before I get round to sorting it out. He's a diamond x

Aww it's great you have a hubby like that

go and pamper yourself before your meal and forget about your idiot tenants

i'm sure you could find a shotgun on Ebay either that or hired heavies

have a good night

It sounds like a nightmare!

I hope you got pampered and had a nice dinner last night

People are just so bl**dy cheeky- maybe the heavy squad could turf them all out and find you nice new ones to replace them!

Shotguns would involve cleaning bills!

Thanks for your support, I had a lovely night last night, was yawning at the table by 8.30 though, but it was nice to get away from it all - we never talk about work when we are out - and rarely at home, but it was nice to get away.

We have just has a mtg at work and I have all of our office calling round people who owe money, so hopefully we can kick some of them up the arse enough to come in and pay.
