Hi guys,
I am home with Curtis born on Tuesday 23rd September at 6.46pm weighing 9lb exactly.
I firstly would like to thank aramintalovegrove for being my text buddy very late in the day
Just to give you a quick run down of labour and birth.
Waters went at 11pm Monday 22nd September
In hospital by 11.30pm and VE done only 1cm dialated
left until 7.30am Tuesday 23rd September another VE done now 2cm dialated
Taken to labour room at 8.00am and epidural administered along with antibotics for Step B and syntocinon (nice labour inducement drug)
at 12.30pm VE done now 4cm dialated
at about 1pm was in real pain as epidural was only working on one side so was rolled from side to side to get the balance back and and then topped up epidural so legs were soooo dead i couldn't move.
had another VE done at 4.30pm and was finally 10cm dialated
left for another hour whilst midwife went off to have some food (bless her she was a star throughout my labour)
at 6.00pm we started pushing.. it was harder than i remember but then i could not feel a ruddy thing.. i was dreading at this point having to have surgery but they kept on willing me on at 6.40pm my husband could see our son's head and nose so was on the home straight...finally at 6.46pm into the world come our son.
(Just to add no stitches so really chuffed !!!)
I was in hospital unitl Friday 26th due to obs being done on Curtis for 48 hours due to the Strep B. I am currently breast feeding and can't believe that our little man will be a week old tomorrow
Its nice to be back and congratulations to all those that have given birth since my absence from forum
Take care all
